Stop Hoping!

hope vs faith

I am giving up HOPING! Yes….I will no longer tell a sick friend “I HOPE you feel better”.  I will no longer tell people “I HOPE you have a great day!”. No longer will I HOPE my dreams & wishes come true! Have I given up? NO!

When we HOPE and WISH then we are still leaving a little fraction of doubt in the intention. The definition of HOPE is “a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen”. Expectation and desire…..not a definitive knowing. How can we create or manifest anything we have a slight doubt in?

When we have complete FAITH and we KNOW something is happening then we put complete intention into it. If I KNOW my dreams are coming true…isn’t that stronger than I HOPE? There is no doubt so it must happen 🙂 

Let’s stop HOPING for peace….let’s KNOW we have peace. Let’s create it…be it….have complete FAITH that it already exists! Tell people “I KNOW you will have a great day!”. Let your ill friend feel “I KNOW you are feeling better!” and let’s KNOW we are in for some wonderful changes!

It will be hard habit to break but I KNOW I am doing it! Are you going to KNOW or HOPE?

I’m certainly still in favor of carrying HOPE in the background but I am moving FAITH to the front! HOPE and WISH is the seed that starts the thought and FAITH and KNOW is what makes it real and makes it happen! HOPE is taking the leap but FAITH is landing safely on the other side <3. I have taken my leap quite a while ago and I am ready for the landing!

A Little Consideration Please!

Your time is valuable….but so is mine.

Your needs are important….but so are mine.

Being a small business owner I see, all too often, people forgetting that their own time is not more important than another’s. Cancelled appointments and no shows…not just me but many other small business owners and self employed professionals dealing with this. The appointments are made and the time is allotted for that client. Any needed preparation is made for the clients needs. Then you wait….and wait. You call to see it they got lost….they forgot or something else came up…”sorry”. Many professionals require deposits or payment in full when the appointment is booked but some…myself included… prefer to give the clients the benefit of the doubt that they will be responsible adults.

 

Dear clients…..

 

  1. Please try and remember when you are unable to make a scheduled time with a professional that they do have other clients too. Maybe another client needed that time you booked…but they were told the time was already taken.

 

  1. Please try and remember that a small business may be operating day to day and lost income…yes your missed appointment is lost income….can hurt quite a bit. You may think that your one appointment won’t make a difference…it does. Rescheduling or giving the professional the opportunity to fill the slot is important.

 

  1. Please try and remember that many of the professionals have taken time to prepare for your appointment…it’s not just the time they spend with you.

 

  1. Please try and remember that the professional may even worry when you aren’t there on time that you got lost or worse. They do care.

 

  1. Please try and remember that they respect your time and would call you ASAP if they had to change anything.

 

  1. Please remember above all that the professionals time is just as important as yours.

 

It’s simple…..call ahead of time if you can’t make it so the time can be filled with another client. Reschedule another time….we don’t mind.

 

Dear professionals…..

 

  1. Please remember to also remember the client’s time is just as important as yours. Don’t rush through the appointment to get to the next one. Allow enough time in between icase the client needs a bit more and to catch your breath so you’re not rushing into the next one already frazzled.

 

  1. Please remember to treat your client with respect & compassion. They are seeing you because they have a need.

 

  1. Please remember to be honest & fair with your client if you want them to return or spread the word how awesome you are.

 

We need each other. And we need to respect each other. Small business & self employed professionals can’t survive without the clients and they offer things that large business & franchise can’t offer the clients…..compassion, one on one full attention, genuine caring & much more.

Holistic is what? Have we forgotten? Is it really that important?

    If we look way back….before society became one of an instant gratification need…..we’ll see that the treatment of illness & disease, whether physical, spiritual or mental was treated as a whole. It was understood that one needed to find the root cause and work on that first. In today’s treatment it has all been separated. Now we have physicians for the body, psychiatrists for the mind and spiritual counselors for the spirit. People want a quick fix and they expect it to be done for them. Society as a whole has given up the responsibility of their own well being to others…many (to be fair…not all) of whom are just worried about filling their bank accounts. Is this working? We see more and more disease and more repeated issues…or the treatment of one thing leads to other issues which now need attention. The commercials for all these new medications say a lot when they refer to all the “possible” side effects.

    Even so many years ago they understood that if you didn’t heal at the root of the issue then it would not be fully healed and would only resurface. Searching for the root cause and working on healing it is a cooperative & joint effort between the patient & the guide. I refer to the professional treating the patient as a guide because when it comes down to it…they are the one guiding the patient to find their own answers and to guiding them to do the work they need to do. It used to be one person that could work with the person in need of healing….a shaman, medicine woman/man, village elder, etc. They would work with the patient to find the root cause first and it would take time. Then the work on healing would start and the patient played a part in this….it wasn’t easy & it wasn’t instant…but once healed it lasted.

    Temporary healing isn’t the answer. Yes….there are times when immediate help is needed and medications are necessary but we can’t expect the body to completely heal if the mind & spirit isn’t also healed and visa versa. The easiest example to give is the health issues caused by stress. A man has heart disease due to stress and ends up with high blood pressure or worse yet needs heart surgery. The physical issue is taken care of in the moment but if the issue causing the stress isn’t dealt with. If the patient ISN’T taught to deal with the stress in a better way it will continue to be an issue for them and they could be in a worse situation later. If they ARE taught to understand the root cause and how to deal with it on a daily basis….to do the work themselves via meditation or relaxation techniques, etc….they will then treat the root cause and find their physical health improving. Stress is one of the biggest root causes of many illness & disease but there are many other things that could be at the root. Sometimes it could even be childhood issues that were never dealt with and have been held in festering and then developing into physical issues.

    Let’s get back to holistic and look at the whole picture. Long term healing is a much better option than quick fixes needed to be repeated over and over and causing even more issues that then need healing too. Let’s get off the hamster wheel and actual make progress! Take responsibility for your own wellbeing back! We still need the physicians and other professionals but don’t give them sole ownership of your health!
